To receive the proper sized gutter guards that fit your gutters correctly, Professional Gutter Guard recommends that that you measure the overall width of your existing gutters. Take a measurement from the outside top front edge of the gutter to the outside face of the building’s fascia board. The measurement will be 5”,6”, or 7”.  Professional Gutter Guard product sizes match these dimensions and will completely cover the top of your gutter.

Most gutters are installed with internal gutter hangers that allow the gutters guards to be installed directly on top of the gutter and up against the fascia of your house. However, not all gutters are installed directly against the house’s fascia. A space between the back edge of the gutter and the house’s fascia may need to be added to the overall dimension required for the gutter guard. Example:  The over width of gutter is measured to be 6”, but the gutter is installed 1” away from the house’s fascia, for an overall measurement of 7”.  The correct gutter guard for this situation is 7”. Covering the 1” gap between the gutter and fascia ensures water and debris will not flow or pass into the gap. This eliminates potential future damage caused by water or debris clogged in the gap.
